A Page Torn From My Graphic Novel

“T
his is not a pipe.” by René Magritte. Quoting Wikipedia, “Ceci n'est pas une pipe ...seems a contradiction, but is actually true: the painting is not a pipe, it is an image of a pipe.”

Clever.

How do you keep a straight face during an interview like that? Honestly. Kudos.

Vanna,

Both Councilman Motznik and I were smiling during that last exchange of questions and answers. He also joked about the situation before we went on camera. When I was telling him about how he could have retained control of the site by deleting his post instead of the entire blog, he joked about it, saying "where were you when I was doing this?" He was a very good sport about it.

Where were you?

We were in council chambers within minutes of him hitting the delete button. We were there. I was giving testimony and even went out of my way to welcome him to the online world.

Trivia. I owned the blog, One Man Think Tank, for a few days a while ago. Its owner, a media guy by day, blogger in the evenings, had interviewed me for a podcast in the time of the clean sweep - toss the bumbs out - era. Well, his blog was hitting on some nerves with some in power and he got told to shut it down or find a different paycheck.

Boom. It went away. Just like Jims. But, I snagged it. I put up a gone fishing sign and emailed the guy. I gave it back to him a week or so later after he asked.

I will help anyone who asks. And, I'll put in my $.02 too, even when not asked. But it is not my place to save Jim's blogging ego, unsolicited.

I knew it would 'shake down' like this. Say I could see the 'writting on the wall.'
